| Information | Völkl`s new fatter Mantra is a completely revolutionary modern freeride ski with the successful cut "3 Radius Sidecut": extra tight radius under the foot - to make piste skiing more fun and more varied; very large radius in front for a more accurate and safe start of the turn and a middle-in-between radius at the rear end. Mantra 102 of course has all the other technology from M5 Mantra as: carved Titanal on the top, so-called "Titanal Frame" to i.a. give the ski a quicker behavior than previous generations. The titanal frame is located in front of and behind the binding zone, respectively, and lowers the swing weight together with the wood core being replaced with carbon fiber at the front. The weight loss is not to suit Touring foxes - only to reduce the negative vibrations that all tip-rocker profiles give at high speeds and to increase playfulness. The total weight loss on per ski means that the 102 still weighs in at a stiff 2.1kg, but Völkl still wants a full layer of Titanal underneath for pure performance reasons. The new high-tech candy "Titanal Frame" and "Carbon tip" together with the new tip-tail rocker profile give a ski that never protests with cuts and choppy tracks in the piste when the skier gives the wrong angles and pressure between cutting and skidding turns ! |
