Alta Badia

Alta Badia is located in the Italian Dolomites and is part of the Dolomiti Superski along with 12 other ski resorts, including Cortina d'Ampezza and Arabba/Marmolada. Many of these resorts can be moved between without taking off your skis, but some of them require other means of transport. Alta Badia is also one of the villages along the classic Sella ronda tour.

The skiing in Alta Badia has a lot of focus on a little less slope with nice views of Dolomitic mountains and cliffs. Fantastic for the inexperienced and intermediate skier, but for those who want to ski black slopes, there are better resorts in the Dolomiti Superski. However, there are one or two really advanced pistes, at least enough for FIS time and time again to put a stop to the men's giant slalom there.

Of course, there is off-piste skiing, especially for those who like to go hiking. Like many other areas in the Dolomites, Alta Badia is very well suited for really nice ski touring and there is a strong touring culture among the locals. Ski tours with a professional guide are also offered.
