The K2 Mindbender 96C is an all-mountain ski with a clear freeride character, built for riding in the entire ski system. The 96 mm waist provides sufficient support in softer snow while the ski feels fast edge to edge on harder surfaces. The All-Terrain Rocker with a gradually curved tip and low tail rocker provides good float in loose snow, while maintaining control when it gets bumpy or icy.
The Aspen Microblock core is combined with K2's Spectral Braid construction - a patented fiber layer where carbon fiber and flax (uni-directional flax) control torsional stiffness zone-wise along the ski. The result is a stable feel with good damping in packed snow, without the weight and power of the Titanal version Mindbender 99 Ti. The Mindbender 96C is thus lighter and easier to ride, especially in forests, moguls and tighter sections, but still has enough stability to handle higher speeds and rough terrain.
Bio Resin in the laminate improves adhesion to the core and maintains strength in the cold, while contributing to a smoother ride. Twin Tech sidewalls run the entire length of the ski and provide good power transfer to the edge and increased wear resistance. The sintered base is made for good glide and durability, provided it is waxed and maintained regularly.
On snow, the Mindbender 96C is experienced as fast from edge to edge and relatively damped for its weight. It thrives in varying snow - from hard morning slopes to spring slush, packed snow and slightly deeper sections on the side. The ski can be ridden both more playfully with short, fast turns and more charger-oriented through packed surface, without feeling nervous.
