Völkl BMT 109 (2018)

Big Mountain Touring says a lot about Völkl's ultra light Touring fats. The BMT models are similar to the V-Werks Katana at first glance, but the BMT has even lower dead weight, even lower swing weight thanks to its ultra-thin 3D.Ridge profile in combination with lighter woods of lower density that also have milled air channels in them. One unlike Katan V-Werks is the side cut, where BMT must be more easily charged and more forgiving for the target group who often have softer and less heavy touring boots but still intend to go the same challenging road down the mountain - Völkl has chosen tapered shape - ie the side cut goes not all the way forward resp. back but has slightly parallel edges at the front and back. Awesome.
