Strengths:
- Protects the whole back.
- Doesn't limit movements.
- Light to wear.
- Remains in place.
Weaknesses:
- It is expensive (at the time I payed nearly €200).
- The piece at the tailbone can flip out of your pants after ducking.
- Not very flexible. It doesn't quite follow the shape of the spine during movements like ducking, bending the back, etc.
Summary:
I use this back protector for motorcycle track riding. Although I have it for a few years now, I never used it for skiing. I will for sure wear it next skiing holiday.
I never fell off my bike with this back protector. But a friend of mine has. He said he was very happy he wore it and that it did it's job perfectly. He landed on his back and head after a highsider. He said, sliding on the track was like moving on rollers.
