Strengths:
Durable, sustainability-minded.

Weaknesses:
The fit, small inside pocket

Summary:
Unfortunately, the fit was not very good on me. Medium was too short in the sleeves on me who is 190cm. Still, it was very long in the body. I also tried the Large and it was good in the sleeves but instead went way too far down the thighs and was very wide and stuck out in the back (I weigh 75 kg). It might suit someone who hangs out in the park better and wants an oversize design.

On the Leeward there is no snow lock, in contrast to the Rollercoaster which has a fixed snow lock and the D-Jacket which has a removable snow lock. It's a matter of taste but personally I miss it. I also miss that there isn't a pocket for lift passes on the sleeve. Even if the latches can read the card in the breast pocket, I think it's nice to always know where the card is, without having to worry about it falling out when you pull something else out of your pockets. On such an expensive jacket, it would also have fit well with the Recco reflector that many other similar jackets have, but it is missing. The inner pocket unfortunately does not have room for my mobile phone, which is still quite small, there are considerably larger mobile phones on the market. I see no reason why they couldn't make it bigger.

It is marketed as a year-round jacket and is intended to be used even in the summer during hikes etc. Personally, I think it takes up a little too much space packed for that and combined with the large hood it is best suited for activities that involve a helmet as the hood catches a lot wind without.

The material feels durable and it has large, good pockets at the front. For anyone wondering why there is no loop to hang the jacket on a hook, look at the back of the hood where you tighten, there is a little string for that!

In summary, it can probably be a good jacket for some, but then you should look for a very long fit over the body.
