The Rollercoaster Jacket has all features of a top-of-the-line shell jacket, but still doesn't overdo it with pockets and technology. Instead, it's the garment cutting that makes it leader of the pack. With a 2-way, single hand, adjustable helmet compatible hood and velcro adjustments in sleeve ending, flexibility is always at an arms reach, while water repellent zips and fully seamed-seals minimizes water intrusion. A snow gaiter protects the core when riding in deep powder and zipped pockets over chest and internally keep your valuables organized all throughout the day.

Made primarily from recycled fibers, recyclable, fluorocarbon free and Bluesign®-certified, the Rollercoaster Jacket also pushes the development in terms of minimizing environmental impact. Therefore, when it's finally worn out, you can bring it back to Houdini for recycling.

Strengths:
+Quiet, flexible fabric
+Feels that the fabric breathes better than Gore Text (Norröna Lofoten)
+Good with two large pockets + a smaller chest pocket
+Good roomy fit, free movement regardless of how the arms are moved

Weaknesses:
- The flap on the inner collar that gets stuck in the chin bothers me a little
- A bit tricky to use the ventilation openings
- Does the fabric hold up to heavy, wet, sticky, precipitation?

Summary:
Have run Gore-Tex (Nordic Lofoten) for 7 years. But switched for several reasons to Houdini this season. Just got home from a week in Austria with everything from rain, sun, wind and snow. The jacket stood up well against all weather. As I said, I feel that it breathes better than the Gore-Tex jacket. I am 175 and ride with L, it gives good mobility (even with a back) and room for a down jacket underneath if needed. I also like that it is long enough to cover the bottom.

The best thing about the jacket is probably the two large chest pockets, which are very spacious and you can fit a lot in there. The chest pocket also works very well.

Update: Drove a week in France in early March. Had a day of really sticky, wet, heavy snow falling all day with lots of wind. In the village, towards the end of the day the weather changed to regular rain. We were all hot, sweaty and wet (regardless of Gore Tex or not). Hard to say if the Houdini fabric was worse or better than the other jackets. But I was still very wet in the middle layer. Will have to test the jacket in more bad weather to see if it lasts or not.

Strengths:
+ Stylish!!
+ Nice colors
+ Nice textile, not as stiff as some goretex jackets
+ Good fit
+ Sustainable materials

Weaknesses:
- Bad membrane, has taken in water on some wet powder days
- Weak impregnation, disappears quickly - leads to
- Expensive
- Few pockets
- No cuffs at the cuffs

Summary:
Bought this on sale for like SEK 3000, ie 50%. Maybe it was worth it (no), but would definitely not pay SEK 6,000 that they are asking for. Changed from a Peak gore-tex jacket, and not completely satisfied. There are only two pockets at the chest, which are large, but if you put something in them (like trying to get a pair of stirrup skins down, or just a mobile phone) it looks like you are pregnant, or have some kind of tumor on your chest. No cuffs at the end of the sleeves, which is totally cool. Must have high gloves, like heli skis from Hestra, so that there is a tight fit between jacket and glove.

However, absolutely the nicest jacket I've had, and the most durable I guess, but it's little comfort when you come home with wet underwear on powder days (from snow, not sweat).
