Strengths:
Matching a premium alpine bond performs in stability and elasticity. Good adjustment options with stepless adjustable hinge and height of the toe part. Works perfectly OK when walking / climbing, although it is not near to match a tech tie. Excellent to switch between walking and skiing without taking off the skis.
Weaknesses:
Non-moving toe plate which means that shoes with rubber sole (turquoise shoes) should not be used! Not enough adjustable toe to work with all turquoise shoes. A certain slight gap in the brace is inevitable due to the construction, but is not noticeable when riding. Snow is collected during the binding at a time which means that it is seldom possible to switch between walking and skiing without taking off the skis (go to go is no problem). Not planned due to the construction, which makes platforming a little strange with a smaller forward end. Only one position on the header (which is relatively high).
Summary:
Excellent alpine binding with walking function (non-turbine) but it feels like there are some childhood diseases that should be addressed. However, nothing that really is a big problem but more a number of less misses (see weaknesses). Rather strange that the binding does not work with traditional turquoise shoes with a whole rubber sole ... especially because the walking function in flat parts more or less requires a shoe with walking function due to the built-in height increase of about 1 cm.
In summary, a completely OK binding that does not really meet expectations of a tie that competes directly with Marker Duke. If you are riding a turquoise, Duke is still the first option and if you drive with Alpine skiing, you will be lucky enough. the shortcomings of the walking function.
Same bond as Salomon Guardian.
EDIT: After a season, I can confirm that the binding in practice works very well. The kind of binding you click and forget ... because it just does what a bond should do. Actually no hassle at all. Recommended as alpine binding with turfunction (grade 4/5), but hardly the first choice if you are looking for a more cleaned turbine. DS.
