Strengths:
- Trust 100% in the bond.
-Very good handling in all conditions.
-The heel riser can be adjusted with the rod.
-Easy to remove and attach toe part to reduce weight on the way up.
Weaknesses:
In chronological order:
-It always stumbles a few times before I get the go mode. Unnecessarily wears on the boot.
-Need to take off gloves to effectively lock ski stoppers (a bit fiddly) and to take off and put on toe part.
-Heavy. No major problems uphill on my tours, but together with heavy skis it becomes a bit difficult when I have to handle the skis in other situations.
Summary:
For me, this is currently the best binding for skiing in ski resorts where the off-piste is limited or when the off-piste snow conditions are not the best. The main thing that bothers me is that it is complicated to get into walking mode. Handling error? Would like to have a threshold/a mechanical stop which means that the boot is placed in the right place in the lengthwise direction of the ski. As it is now, I get a lot of marks from the spikes on the boot. As tech is not an option for me, I will supplement with a lighter setup when Shift 2.0 comes out on the market.
