Strengths:
I tested these bindings during three days of hard drive on and off piste in Hemsedal Feb 2007 and they seem very reliable, are very similar to Rottefella R8 in the performance, cruel control simply. I ran with these bindings on a pair of Elan M777 and experienced no flex at all in the tie and the trigger function worked perfectly. I dare to drive harder with these than Rottefella, especially in the woods. I weigh 90 kg o put them in position 3.5 which was perfect. The bonds did not resolve unnecessarily but were not too hard. It's ok to push back the binding on the plate, even in deep snow. But you need to help a little bit with the stick.

EDIT 2010/12:
Have been running three full seasons on Hardwire CRB and still think it's a GRYM binding. It has saved my knees several times I think. And it gives a bit more piece of mind in the event of avalanche.

Weaknesses:
One of course, the appearance ... But rather a ugly bond than broken knees.

EDIT 2010/12:
Has had two types of problems:
1. The anvil on the plate that holds the toe to loosen out at one point. The screws were pulled from underneath so it had to unscrew the entire tie from the skid to be able to tighten. Not so good - make sure to tighten these screw as a fan before mounting the tie the first time !!
2. Sometimes thieves solve the tie as you scratch steep and hard and try to stump the steel edge in the snow. Creepy. But it has been manageable by being careful. thinking about scar iron ...

Summary:
I see no reason to drive on Rottefella R8 when this connection is available (also at cheaper price, see www.telemark-pyrenees.com), except possibly the look at that. But to prioritize it in front of the whole knee o not to be pulled as easily in avalanches seems sick. In addition, the spare parts are cheap, which can not be said about Rottefella.
