Manufacturers description
The Quadrant is our premier four-buckle touring boot that combines stiff freeride performance with a lightweight, touring-focused design. For 2014, it features a completely redesigned liner for all-day cold-weather comfort.
Our most versatile alpine touring boot, the Black Diamond Quadrant combines lightweight skinning comfort with stiff freeride performance thanks to a 120 flex, tech binding compatibility and 40-degrees of resistance-free motion. The Quadrant’s thermoformable, taped-seam liner has been redesigned for superior warmth and comfort on all-day, mid-winter tours. The rockered rubber outsole helps the boot pack go smoothly, and the four-buckle design gives you plenty of power when it’s time to drop.
Triax Pivot frame with Flex 120, 40° of resistance-free touring motion and locking QuickWire buckles
Plastic liner tongue for a smooth, evenly distributed flex and a wide power strap
AT liner with reflective metalized Strobel base, articulated flex zones and taped seams for all-day cold-weather touring comfort
Rockered rubber outsole with integrated tech inserts provides dynamic grip and durability
103 mm V-shaped last with performance, out-of-box fit; 100% thermoformable

Strengths:
Very comfortable, they feel very snug as a boot. They feel light and the range of movement is good when touring. The disc system on the inner works very well, it is quick to put on and adjust, no laces to struggle with. Did a number of days in bounds skiing in Canada in -30 deg C. Although I wouldn't describe the boots as comfortable at that temp, they certainly prevented my toes from freezing. Surprisingly stiff. I ski on the 2010 K2 Hellbent with Marker Barons (heavy and very wide ski(122mm at waist)) and after some initial getting use to the weight the Quadrants handled them very well, the boot has a good progressive flex. I feel confident charging in the boots.
Weaknesses:
Expensive. A lot of wonga to shell out for a pair of boots.
Summary:
An excellent all round boot, which is light enough to handle touring, but still able to handle wider heavier freeride skis. My skis and bindings weigh around 8 kg, and I am perfectly happy with riding in these boots.
I would be happy to wear these boots as an all round boot. I also spent 2 days on GS Skis on a piste and I was happy riding in them.

Strengths:
Light pants that are comfortable. Feel free to use but as a previous printer. Too wide feet and can be difficult to get caught in shame. But to me it is perfect. Good flex, ie, stable enough, but not yet.
Perfect for driving around my Dynastar Legend 94, my old pocket rocket and Big Daddy.
Weaknesses:
Small in size so I have gone up 1.5 in size.
Summary:
A light, stable, cool pants for the best. Worth the price for the one who is crazy. The alternative is also the Prime model, which is a bit cheaper.

Strengths:
Extremely wide pants, my wide feet fit without pushing the skull. Something that has never happened before. People with narrow feet should think carefully before buying them. The risk is that you will need lots of padding to get your foot stuck.
Stable and rigid rando pants. The flex is absolutely comparable to my old Alpine boots (Crossmax).
Relatively light pants for stability.
Weaknesses:
Linern (Innerskon) is naturally very thin and can not be compared to a liner for an alpine jacket. The hinge is not very good, I've fixed this through extra padding on the line.
Summary:
Choose skiing after this jacket. My Dynastar Prorider XXL feels the right tongue to drive around. My touring ski, Atomic Sugar Daddy is lighter and softer and feels right.
