Manufacturers description
Cochise 130 DYN with Grip Walk sole is a light, stable boot with walking position for freeriders who seek outside the lift system. The Polyether shell with Power Light Design is 30 percent thinner and twice as torsionally rigid as conventional boot materials. The boot closes with a powerful strap - Powerstrap. The self-adjusting gait position provides 50 degree movement. In the locked position, the Cochise is a stable and powerful boot for varying freeriding. The anatomically preformed inner shoe can be individually adjusted with Tecnica's C.A.S. systems that are punched, ground and thermoformed for a completely unique fit.

Strengths:
Hard flex but progressive for free riding feel. Good result in walking position. Nice inner shoe.

Weaknesses:
Heavy if you are going to go on regular top tours. The sole may break and new ones must be screwed on.

Summary:
Versatile boots with stiffness but a touch of finesse. Not first choice on top tours but simple ascents from the lift where riding is the priority, they are nicer to go with than racing boots and more free riding feeling than racing because they are more progressive. The walking position is nice with good coverage on the boot and it is heavier so it is good to ride and burn on downhills with.

Strengths:
Comfort, heel grip, laced inner shoe, power strap, stability and wide range of use.

Weaknesses:
- Have not tested a pair of pure top touring boots, therefore have no reference as to whether they are heavy or not for top touring.
- The color possibly

Summary:
Having gone from a purely slalom boot, this measures up really well in downhill skiing. Solid walking position and very comfortable with a laced inner shoe at the top. Apart from the sole, the boots are original, fit like a glove on me who might otherwise have problems around the ankles.

Used about 35 days together with a pair of fischer fr 102 with shift binding, perfect combo that works for everything.

Strengths:
Quality, comfort, ride feel, stability and flex. Usability and functionality for the entire mountain for different types of riding.

Weaknesses:
As a top touring boot, a bit too heavy and limited ROM (range of motion). Also easy to switch from walking mode to riding mode if you are used to more top-tour oriented boots.

Summary:
Agree with Tecnica's own product description that this is a freeride boot.

Tecnica never disappoints with its quality. The inner shoes are really nice and well thought out with various smart details, it seems that nothing has been left to chance.

A boot that focuses on riding characteristics and performance, but which you can actually walk with. Love the nice progressive flex that also behaves the same regardless of temperature. Big difference compared to the Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro, which with its grillamide has more of an on/off feeling with the pressure. With Cochise I feel better control and it is easy to balance how much pressure and power you want to get down to the skis.

Have ridden in the boots for about 100 days. Haven't needed any bootfitting either, apart from soles of course :)

Use the boots mainly for a pair of Norse The Enduro.
