Manufacturers description
Constantly driving freeride skiing forward, the iconic Atomic Bent Chetler 120 continues to evolve with a new lower-impact design, core and profile that improves float, enhances balance, and boosts playfulness. Based on one of the most revered freeride skis on the mountain, the new Bent Chetler 120 employs next-generation HRZN 3D with a full wrap tip/tail profile for even more playful skiing and better float in the deepest snow. Chris Benchetler’s signature ski and the biggest brother in the Bent family, the reimagined Bent Chetler 120 receives a tip-to-tail upgrade with a new poplar Light Woodcore and lower-impact design that uses more wood and less metal, fiberglass and resin to decrease the environmental impact of the ski’s production. A wildly imaginative top sheet designed by Chris himself uses more recycled material to further reduce the overall carbon footprint. In total, material-related CO2 equivalent emissions were cut by 13% (compared with the Bent Chetler 120, 2022). What’s Chris’ favorite update? He’s super stoked on the new ash wood binding reinforcement band that adds 10% more strength!

Strengths:
Agile, Poppy, Surfy, Fun, Smile on your face

Weaknesses:
Durability

Summary:
I rode these skis as a daily driver for four years. I loved them. I have two different pairs.

Unfortunately, both pairs have binding rip-outs in the middle of the 2nd season. The soft wood cores in these skis simply do not hold up to many days of hard skiing.

So yeah, they are great, fun surfy skis. My favorite ski I've ever ridden. But don't expect them to last long.

Model year: 2021
Riding style: Moguls, Trees, Powder, Drops
Length on the ski: 184 cm
Riders weight: 68 kg
Riders length: 182 cm

Strengths:
The best I've ever skied in deep snow!!! A good ski in all conditions.
weight/width ratio,

Weaknesses:
Everything in front of the edge of the ski is not protected and is susceptible to stone chips. If there is damage, I recommend drying the damaged area and using a good 2-component adhesive.

Summary:
The perfect powder ski for freeriding, but also a great ski for all other days!

I am a tourer, hence my relevant view:
For touring in good snow, the weight per unit area ratio is completely ok (you should only wax the surface so that the snow doesn't stick... lots of surface area - lots of snow), for me the ski tempts you to jump over natural jumps more than any other, you become... hopping ski bunnies.
I've already hiked 1,500 meters in one go with it... probably a lot more strenuous than with my Fischer Transalp, but going downhill is even more awesome in powder!
The right binding for me if you want to go up and down well is the Shift, good freeriders will probably choose the Marker Duke because of the Z value of 16 ;-)

Model year: 2020
Riding style: Ski tours mainly in powder, but also good behavior on other days
Length on the ski: 192 cm
Riders weight: 84 kg
Riders length: 198 cm
