Manufacturers description
Built to carve playfully through chalky powder yet open up and rip when
conditions get steep and technical, the Impulse 98 features a moderate, 98-mm
waist that’s versatile for all-mountain skiers. A flat, solid-core construction
for added torsional stiffness provides premium power transmission and the
dampness and stability to hold fast while charging on harder snow. Austrianmade with pre-preg fiberglass and an engineered poplar core, The Impulse 98 is
the daily driver for all-mountain skiers who need playful planks that can charge
on command.

Strengths:
Easy to maneuver
Floats well in loose snow
Reliable and silent at high speed
Ice grip
Playful
All around!
Weaknesses:
Possibly somewhat fragile topsheet edges
Summary:
Test driven for a week in Hemavan with weather changes from piste, slush and finally half a meter of dry powder: can only say that with the shift binding on these are my one-quiver.
Lots of driving pleasure. Fast edge to edge, and then easily switch to long carves where they hold and withstand a lot of pressure.
Fun on the piste, not nervous at either high or low speed.
Easily maneuvered in forest skiing.
Good flow in loose snow, although the wider variants certainly give more.
Maybe doesn't go like a train through everything like Extrems Project, but feels stable. Ice grip not like a pair of pure ski boots, but not far off.
Possibly too heavy for long summit tours, but for that there are probably more pure teams.
Really nice. Recommended.
