Strengths:
Stable, good feedback, no unpleasant surprises in performance even if they are squeezed hard, work well for varied rides
Weaknesses:
No special,
Summary:
After a stay of about 15 years from downhill skiing, I started to perform winter 2012/2013 again. I used to be used to full-length skiing and, in honesty, did not like the carving skis when they arrived. Think mostly because I had difficulty changing my ride style (competed in SL, GS and DH during the 80's), which did not fit directly for carving skis.
Now, when it was time to start performing again, the choice fell on a couple of Blizzard Supersonic IQs and after a few days of skiing, I started to get a better grip on the technology and it became a bit of aha experience. As the season went, I became more comfortable with the skis and was very pleasantly surprised at how they delivered. In addition to a fairly significant number of ski days in Sweden, the ski was included for a week's skiing in Italy, where there was also a lot of offpiste which they seem helpful too.
During the season, I tried fairly similar models from Rossignol, Atomic and K2 but I would choose these Blizzard every day of the week against the other tested skis.
Where I find that these skis work best, they are hard prepared backs where you can squeeze the skis really hard and they respond very well back.
The only thing I can miss is that it's a little too nervous to go really fast with them but it's not the fault of the ski but more connected to the length of the ski. You can not trick the physique no matter how good the ski itself is. There I still long for my 205 long GS skis ...
