Manufacturers description
NEW FOR 13/14: The Origin!

All new for 13/14 , the CountDown 0 was born from the same fundamental premise as our company, the passion for deep powder.

Taking design elements from our premier big mountain ski, the "3", and tweaking them in order to benefit a wider, more playful model, the "0" is the perfect tool for the job, wether you prefer your powder in an open bowl or in hidden stashes among the trees.

Built with two full layers of carbon, our Continuous Elliptical Rocker profile, a 124mm waist, a progressive sidecut and a more centered recommended mount point than most freeride skis, the "0" is a truly playful performer.

More words??? You know we are not about that.....we will let the "0" speak for itself!

Strengths:
Lightweight, exciting and incredibly playful in a freeride manner. Pillows are preferred, but the shape and above all the rocker make it work really well late and the day after a cushion day when all snow is slaughtered. The flex is medium stiff and relatively even, which makes them highly predictable, which I appreciate.

Carbon fiber fabric makes them slightly easier than you would think when it comes to a ski in this size. I'm absolutely no jibber but can without any problems drag these around in a tree if it would drop me in doing so.

Like many other good wide skis, much of the width is torn away. It requires some speed before this happens. I have not skis broader than 115 for a while now and thought that this would feel wide and above. I stepped on the skis and we were friends from day 1 :)

Weaknesses:
Do not know if it's a weakness, but it would have been a little fun if it had a little more lift in the tail. It had lost some stability, but had become slightly more jibbig.

Summary:
Since I have my Opinion 194cm, which I personally think works a little better in pillows (NEVER have gone over the board with them. No matter how fast I've landed!) Then these have been my choice for days of more snowy snow. They like pulling in the fall direction, but thanks to rocker, weight and flex are easy to knock out to speed up if you think it's going too fast. It is a good stun in the ski and I always feel very safe with these under my feet.
So yes ... a playful meat skate I would like to say it is!

Mounted mine at -5 from TC with a Salomon STH16 and K2 Pinnacle 130 LV on my feet.
