Manufacturers description
The Wailer 99 is the Daily Driver, redefined. The Wailer 99 is set to become the new standard for all-mountain/all-condition shapes. Based on the award-winning Wailer 112RP platform, the Wailer 99 exhibits similar versatility in a narrower package. The Wailer 99 utilizes the Wailer 112's 3-D PaddleTech Geometry™ - DPS' original blend of rocker and variable sidecut. PaddleTech Geometry™ allows the skier to engage the Wailer 99's slightly cambered 18m underfoot turn radius while charging g-loaded carves on harder snow. When the snow becomes mixed or soft, the skier draws on the gradually rockered paddle.
Wailer 99 is available on Pure or Hybrid construction. Specs are for Pure.

Strengths:
Good flow in pillows but still rap in the piste
Good ice grip

Weaknesses:
Delicate top sheet

Summary:
Run NTN since three years, telis since 1996, a couple of weeks a year most often. Have hitherto driven the ski for two weeks in hard time before in Duved, a week in the snowmobile in Champoluc and three days deep snow in St Luc / Grimentz.

Works very well everywhere, very good flow in pillows with zero dive over the tips. Easy to carve on tougher surfaces with varying radii. Had Dynastar Sultan 85 earlier and DPS is a bit warmer in the piste but extremely much better in loose snow where the Sultans appeared.

Has 176 Hybrid that is very rap in the piste. Perhaps I would rather have 184 pure but still the best skis I've been driving telis on. Very good for mix of pistons / pads and Sweden / Alps.

Riding style: Telis, piste & pillows. Like to swing and carve hard. No charger.
Length on the ski: 176 cm
Riders weight: 79 kg
Riders length: 178 cm
