Manufacturers description
There's a fine line to walk when building your freeride quiver - the widest skis lack performance on hardpack, while narrower skis don't offer enough floatation, causing you fall behind your buddies on deep days. The Ripstick 106 with Amphibio Carbon Line Technology is the solution, as it's the perfect width for a one-ski quiver and offers an unmatched duo of grip and floatation. It's built for skiers seeking exceptional performance while exploring the entire mountain. It's a smooth ride no matter where you take it - front side, steeps, trees, or exploring untouched terrain, this lightweight versatile ski is up for any challenge. Amphibio profile, Carbon Rods, and SST Sidewall supply the perfect blend of power, smoothness, maneuverability, and precision. It's hard to argue with Plake: “This is the one ski I can take anywhere in the world and trust it in any condition.”

Strengths:
Nice float in deep western pow...with some pop...a terrific carver on the groomers...quick edge to edge...if u can only take 1 pair in the plane to ski the West this is it!

Weaknesses:
No glaring weakness for its size...you could pick a better mogul or race ski but this is an all mountain ski and a good one!

Summary:
A great Western all mountain ski...I have skied 60000 vertical feet on these over 2 days so far mostly off puste in deep Grand Targhee pow!

Model year: 2023
Riding style: Piste
Length on the ski: 185 cm

Strengths:
This ski is a versatile and forgiving ski, super playful and snappy in and out of every turn. The quickest edge to edge I tested.

Weaknesses:
I give the flotation 4 out of 5, which is still a very solid score.

Summary:
This ski has great flex I can this ski everywhere. Hard or soft snow, doesn’t matter. No negatives about this ski.

Model year: 2019
Riding style: ski touring, powder
Length on the ski: 181 cm
Riders weight: 127 kg

Strengths:
Goes anywhere, any condition. Just point the tips down and go for it — for a 106 waist these eat icy hardpack and groomers like nothing. Steep? Ain't no thang. Same with trees. Can't wait to ride these in deep snow.

Weaknesses:
Haven't been able to find good powder yet :(

Summary:
Excellent, playful do-it-all ski that skis a bit shorter than it really is. Go for it.

Model year: 2019
Riding style: Piste / trees / play / rando
Length on the ski: 188 cm
Riders weight: 108 kg
Riders length: 198 cm

Strengths:
Good flow and light for its width. Springy ski.

Weaknesses:
I think it releases a little in the back end, but it could be that I just haven't gotten used to it yet. Or it's the tapered tail shape that does it.

Summary:
Good ski that works well in most bows. Run with Ripstick 96 too. Incredibly nice skis. Would have actually given it a 4.5 rating, but it didn't work out.

Model year: 2022
Riding style: Top turn
Length on the ski: 181 cm

Riders length: 176 cm

Strengths:
Lightly turned and playful. Good flow in loose snow

Weaknesses:
Requires speed on the piste and not optimal edge grip on hard surfaces.

Summary:
I use mine mainly for off-piste and top tours where I think they are really good. The ski has a decently low weight, which makes it a good touring ski, but the self-lever downhill is what I'm stuck with. Easy-turning and good loose snow ski that works exceptionally well on off-piste or driven pistes. Have a couple of other skis for pure piste skiing but these are ok even on hard slopes, although not optimal. Possibly the 96 is a better choice if you are looking for a ski for everything and ride 50/50 piste and offpiste.

Model year: 2022
Riding style: Powder / Top tour (a little piste with the family)
Length on the ski: 181 cm
Riders weight: 78 kg
Riders length: 183 cm

Strengths:
Very versatile. Works both in piste and off piste.

Weaknesses:
Hard to find something really bad. Possibly they require some speed to work really well. They require an active skater.

Summary:
After trying out about fifteen pairs of skis I finally got stuck for Elan Ripstick 106. Wanted a couple of wider skis that work in a bit softer snow outside the piste as well as in well-groomed slopes. It is said that there is nothing called "good compromise" for skis for the whole mountain, but for me the Elan Ripstick 106 is the absolute best All-Mountain ski I have tried.

Strengths:
Skiing with a lot of flow and really good even on harder surfaces, has driven it some in different conditions from powder to medium hard piste, though not in the snow snow so there I can not pronounce myself. Love the skis, quick to get even though it is getting crowded around the fir trees. Worth every crown.

Weaknesses:
Not the quickest from edge to edge but it's not much to say about, 106mm below the foot.

Summary:
Easy and stable. Feels very playful and safe.

Strengths:
A ski for all days on the mountain. It fits most riders who like to go outside the piste but would like to use the same ski days the piste is the only option. The skid is very lightweight at sliding turns, but it also offers dance as you get up and push.

Weaknesses:
The sales argument that there is a big difference between the profile on the inner and outer sides of the skis. Could not make a difference when switching the skis.

Summary:
A really lovely ski that fits most of the skiers who want a ski around 100mm. Does not feel clumsy or heavy-headed at all.

Riding style: Allmountain / country skiing
Length on the ski: 188 cm
Riders weight: 75 kg
Riders length: 180 cm
