Manufacturers description
The Fusion 105 is our most versatile freeride ski, always ready to tackle big mountains in Scandinavia or the Alps. It doesn’t matter if the conditions are powder or wind packed, the Fusion 105 handles it all with ease and a playful demeanor. The finely tuned waist width of 105 mm makes the ski float effortlessly in powder while still holding a confident edge on harder snow.

The wood core is made from snappy poplar and lightweight paulownia in order to keep the overall weight down and give the ski its playful characteristics. We have added race rubber dampening in the tip and tail to filter out vibrations and make the ski stable on harder snow and at higher speeds. The combination of a tapered sidecut and a progressive rocker profile in the tip and tail makes the Fusion 105 playful and easy to ski in a long range of snow conditions.

The Fusion 105 can be used with a traditional alpine binding, such as the Marker Griffon or Look Pivot, for playful and fast skiing within the ski area boundaries. It’s also perfectly matched with a hybrid binding such as the Salomon Shift or Marker Duke PT, making for a combination that’s ready to explore the world in the backcountry beyond the lifts.

Strengths:
Playful and light. Good flow in powder. Also bites surprisingly well on hard surfaces.

Weaknesses:
Not speed stable. Fluttering and jerky at higher speeds. Hard to get on edge for me.

Summary:
Won this ski a year ago and now I've tried it extensively for a week in the Alps. Since I won it, this review is unaffected by the fact that I paid my own money for them. I should probably start by saying that maybe not the right target group for the ski. I like to put the edges down on hard slopes mainly and have other skis for that. However, I brought this ski because there was supposed to be 80 cm of snow on the first day of our trip, which it did. And it was absolutely fantastic the first few days with loose snow. Then it works perfectly optimally, I would say. After a couple of days it was messy and busy and it became a piste instead of seeing how it copes in harder conditions.

It was still beyond expectations, I must say. It was really put to the test in the black slopes of Zermatt where it was hard and 90 degree turns. I got a little worried when you started up and suddenly there is a blind curve you don't know about, but the edges sat firmly on the hill, thank God, otherwise you would have flown off a cliff or at least into a fence.

Also tried some technical carving and found it very difficult to edge the ski properly, but that's not what it's for, so not so strange. On the other hand, it became worried as soon as there was an edge from a piste machine or similar, so I became a little unsure of the ski at times.

In conclusion, I would say a good ski in soft snow and lower speeds.

About the ski: Basically the same ski as the Fusion 105 Reload with no metal, which gives a more playful but not quite as stable ski. Span under the foot, long rocker in the tip and a shorter rocker in the tail. A really good almountain ski that also works great for hiking.

Fredrik: - They were okay… but not a favorite. I think they were hard to get on the edge, and when I did, they felt unstable. But that might be because I'm starting to get tired. The skis would probably feel better if it was softer on the slopes. Rating: 3.

Johan: - I like them! Really good for being an all-round ski. Although I do not drive a lot of park, it was fun to go and jump a little on the slopes, and they felt safe. Also worked really well to carve on, although it is icy. However, I feel that the skis have a maximum speed, and then they start to become stable. But otherwise a fantastic fun and stylish ski! Rating: 4.

Moa: - This wasn't really a ski for me, but it was totally okay. The ski is light but feels a bit unstable, especially into turns. Doesn't feel special, neither good nor bad. Rating: 3.5.

Olle: - This is a good ski! Good all-round skiing, perfect for Scandinavian skiing and worked really well today and is certainly even better when it is softer. Rating: 4.5.
