Strengths:
Solid durable ski especially in early and late season conditions. In other words it works in the rocks
Weaknesses:
Not as floaty in powder
Summary:
I've been using my Recons for 12 years. Every year the shop says they are in good shape for another year. A little wax and sharpening and im bready for another season. Reasonably priced and fun performance it's a great ski.

Strengths:
Easy turning, does well on ice. Responsive, durable, versatile.
Weaknesses:
Heavy, but I have heavy rental style bindings on them to accomodate boot changes.
Summary:
I love these skis but they're getting kind of old (as am I). They are versatile, good for most conditions, one of the best skis I've ever had. I welcome people's thoughts on a current generation ski that would work to replace them. I do a lot of "laps" up and down the mountain, Eastern skiing, do an occasional back country trip.
Model year: 2008
Riding style: Piste; Ski Patroller, need to go anywhere on the hill. I do a lot of "laps" up and down the mountain, probably ski 30-40 miles a weekend. Aggressive "old school" style, top to bottom, "feel the burn" runs.
Length on the ski: 174 cm
Riders weight: 82 kg
Riders length: 175 cm

Strengths:
Extremely versatile, fun to ski.
Can ski hard pack, crud, powder.
Weaknesses:
In 3+ ft of powder does not quite have enough surface to float as weel as the wider skis.
Summary:
Awsome ski back in 2006.
Model year: 2006
Riding style: Powder when it\'s available, piste when not.

Strengths:
Very nice sneakers. Flies well, even though it is not so wide-eyed.
Works well even in the piste. Very fast-paced on turn, pushes smoothly through irregularities, does not find any stupidities. Lightweight ski with forgiveness.
Awesome nice ski!
Weaknesses:
Would like a little more witty response to ice and in humps.
A little in the heaviest team to be optimal top class skiing.
Featuring an ornament in the form of a sylvasst "X", which should be filed down.
Summary:
As an old competition skier from the 60s and 70s, I now go the most pist and lice when I can access. Gets top trip sometime a year. Purchased Apache Recon with Marker Duke Randonné binding to have all-round skiing with the option of a top trip. Would really like to have the new Mark F12, but it does not fit due to the elevation of the ski (the top is not flat). The nice "X" on the skid I have cut my hand on, and it can definitely be dangerous in a collision with another skier. The sharp edges should be filed round to reduce the risk.
I have taken 21 days on these layers.
