“Surfing the mountain” has been a consistent theme in the Praxis factory for some time now. The Ullr is a surf inspired powder design featuring a spoon-shaped, reverse-sidecut tip, that can slash turns in a variety of conditions, but is exceptional in deep powder and equated to “surfing” on snow. The Ullr barely notices a few tracks, busting through chop with no regard, and carving its way through variable snow like it were a groomer. Make sure you have these for the bigger swells!

Strengths:

This is a great deep snow ski combining more progressive and traditional design traits to give a balanced state ride in deep snow, soft chop and soft groomers. It is quite capable on harder snow, but tiring to keep on edge due to its width. It will get you down fine, but once things firm up, narrower options are better.

It is light enough to serve in a side country or even back country role with the appropriate bindings.
