Strengths:
1) Carving: You can carve SL to GS turns with this ski and never get tired. The longer turns are stable at speed even though they are beyond the ski's radius. Put them on edge and let them go! These are a blast and, frankly, surprise the heck out of me.
2) Bumps: You can smear/check these easily and ski them smoothly through the bumps. Of course, I bought it in a relatively short length.
3) Cheap: The Spirit Pro is the last time Stockli made a Spirit as an expert ski. Most people opt for the Laser Cross or Laser SC and not this ski. I picked up mine for only $200 on e-bay.
4) Quality: These are really well built skis.
Weaknesses:
1)Not too forgiving: On my first run I got a little back and the skis shot out from under me. After that I simply pushed forward a bit more (let's call it a more athletic stance) and the skis were an absolute joy. These are for people who know how to carve.
Summary:
Outstanding bargains on e-bay for this ski (I paid only $200)! This is a superior carver for anyone who knows how to put a ski on edge, yet you can still smear turns if you want to. Responds better to a more modern carving technique (both legs). Surprisingly stable for a 165 cm ski! Good in the bumps, too.
Riding style: 70% groomers, 10% bumps, 20% trees (I use a different ski for powder).
Length on the ski: 165 cm
Riders weight: 127 kg
Riders length: 5 cm
