Strengths:
Handles just about everything thrown at it. At speed it excels, a delightful GS turner, steady as is on rails.

Weaknesses:
Bit rough in bumps, happier at higher speeds. Not a lot of float in powder compared to real powder skis, but not terrible either.

Summary:
It is an old ski by today’s standards, but it most certainly gets the job done well. Edge grip is great on ice, crud is smoothed out, calm at high speeds.

Model year: 2004
Riding style: All mountain
Length on the ski: 185 cm
Riders weight: 83 kg
Riders length: 193 cm

Have had my Machete SIN since January and have some mixed feelings. Running telemark and mounted on Linken. The tour was a trip to Whistler and thus the new Garmont EnerG was also bought. First of all - totally agree that in the day old, loose snow and slush the skies are superb. But in powder they were almost useless. Had to bump me hard back in my boots and force my toes to get something that looks like flow, or more correctly - avoid direct immersion! Now considering whether it's worth trying out the tie-in, or maybe buying something else and putting sledges on the Volantene.

Previously I was pleased with: X-Scream series

I have been on my machetas (185 cm) for a total of three weeks now and am more than satisfied. Thanks to the sturdy steel structure, they are ridiculously stable at high speeds. The ice grip is superb.
The 24m cut-off radius is on top so I can keep the pace down in the sloping slopes, but they are enjoying themselves in high traffic, so just go and go.
My new favorite base is a day-old wrecked snowman. They cut through all the irregularities.
With the choice of materials, they are comparatively heavy, which can be detrimental to short-range and air.
In deeper snow they have a good flow. Never wider than these (81mm at the waist), assuming that the flow is quite directly proportional to the width of the skis. No design writer here, most width.
They have an unmatched flow in the elevator queue, with the blank sink bench. A feature with Ajax bathroom enhances.
This is the ski for you who constantly chases sneezing, but in practice, the pistachio and the fastest go.
I do not think I'll find a better ski in that genre - 5th

Nice design!

Telemark walks on it, and it works really well. Gets a very good cut with it in the piste and in the sneeze it floats like a badanka.
In short, a canon ski.

The ski is the coolest thing I've seen! Does the cannon work in the piste stable and with a good edge grip, in the off-piste it flows well. Small twintip also makes it possible to land a fax.
