Manufacturers description
The Revolt 101 – the slimmer sibling of the Revolt 114 – is the perfect ski for the first few days of the season. Whether it’s hard ground, packed powder or long days in the mountains, the lightweight and high-performance Revolt 101 is aimed at both classic skiers and experienced freestylers as well as former competitive skiers with freeski ambitions, who are looking for a lively all-mountain ski that thrives in varying conditions.

The Revolt 101 is designed to be ridden sporty on piste and delivers directly on the edge, but also impresses in loose snow among trees. Although switch skiing is possible, the ski is not a typical twin-tip but rather a forward-facing ski. The well-proven Völkl 3D Sidecut guarantees outstanding agility and enables the tightest turns. The flat tail enhances the ski’s forward-facing character, which positively affects carving properties both on and off piste and helps keep speed under control.

Available in four lengths, the 101 completes the Revolt series as an affordable and durable mid-width ski.

Summary:
The new Revolt 101 is a really fun ski for those who want to be able to drive all over the mountain without compromising too much on carving. As a former racer, I was looking for a ski that can handle both speed, pressure and variety, and this model delivers beyond expectations.

The ski thrives best when it gets a little steeper and the pace goes up. It requires an active rider and some speed to really come to life and allow you to put your hip down properly in the turns. The grip is not on par with a pure carving ski, but it still performs surprisingly well on hard surfaces, even in Easter conditions with frozen surfaces where it easily becomes hard and icy the first few runs.

This is not a pure park ski, unlike several of its siblings in the Revolt series that are more park-focused. It is slightly stiffer, which suits those who like to push and ride aggressively. At the same time, it works better than expected in the air, despite being a little heavier than, for example, Atomic Bent 100, it felt stable in jumps and smooth in rotations, and does not require much to get an ollie.

In softer snow, it also handles the conditions well and plows stably through the crud, making it a reliable ski even off-piste.

It's not the easiest ski to ride, and it requires some technique and strength. It is therefore best suited for intermediate to advanced skiers who want to take the next step in their skiing.

It may also be worth mentioning that the ski is produced in China ("Made in China"), which may be of interest to those who care about manufacturing and origin.

In summary, it is a ski for those who want to be able to play all over the mountain, but at the same time want something that can deliver when it's time to push on the hard piste.
