I do not have Mtx without Ltd, but it's the same binding except that Ltd also has nuts on the side that stiffens but also weighs more. Ltd costs almost 1000 kr more than Mtx and it's not worth it. This year's (02/03) base tie F60 is almost exactly the same as Mtx and Ltd from 01/02 but with another toestrap.

There are some minus of the bond. What I do not like is mainly the wide pouring bowl and that the backing is so flat and straight all the way up. It gives worse support above and around the heel while the top of the backrest can clamp against the ankle. The backing is a bit too soft as well. Compared with other brands' bindings, it can be tricky to bring the sticky plastic part into the buckles. The toestrap is a bit mysko shaped too, I would prefer one that was less curvy (which is on the F60 from 02/03). There are many nuts and screws on the bond, if they had succeeded in reducing the number, the binding had weighed less. An adjustable toe ramp without any marking small elevations below the foot would have been good too, now you can feel certain edges straight through the sole if you feel a bit. The Finnish is not perfect in the detail work.

All the necessary adjustments are available and what makes the tie good despite the drawbacks above is that the bottom plate is quite rigid while the wrist strap fits well over the boot, is wide and not strained when loaded. The buckles bite well too, and you can tighten tight if you want without blood clots. You are always stuck badly and your foot never lifts from the board if you put the strap correctly.

Had preferably given 3.5 but considering that the problems with the pouring hood and the backing can depend on my boots (Burton) and that the fit is perfect with other manufacturers' boots, they still get a four. Drake is designed along with Northwave, which is wider and thicker. There are some details that still reduce the score unnecessarily.

Drake certainly has the most affordable bindings. The matrix has a glass fiber base plate, aluminum adjustable aluminum bowl, high rigid backrests, which provides quick response to the heel. The ankle strap is also very responsive but still beautiful. The buckles are made of aluminum = very durable. In essence, everything can be set on these bindings, the only thing that could be added is an adjustable foul. The tie is relatively wide at the heel so it fits best to boots that are not too narrow (works well with my Salomon Dialoques). Drake gives much more quality for money than compared to ex Burton. Buy Drake!

Really nice bindings. Drake has the advantage of having high coats and on this model it is also quite stiff. There are many options that make them comfortable even if you are tight. The Mtx'n gives a well controlled response and feeling, I've been riding the piste and offpiste most and almost nothing in the park with them. The quality feels good.

The buckles can be a bit dull but they work well.

The binding is relatively expensive, just over 2,000 kr, but I think defenitively it is worth its price.
