Enjoyed my ION HD during last season (03/04) and must say I was more than satisfied! I usually have trouble finding boots that fit my sheets, but these are perfect! Shysst hot, black and ok tight.

The only thing that I usually annoy myself is the plastic pillar as you put the plaster over to stretch the bottom more. It has some ability to rotate. I do not like ...

Otherwise, skys boot !!!

Cruel shoes that are exactly what I was looking for. My previous shoes, Burton's Driver, were a little too tight for my taste. With Ion HD, Burton has just found the rigidity required to have good control on the board in different snow conditions without feeling rocky. That they then weigh and are comfortable like a pair of sneakers do not make matters worse.

Used Burton Ion HD during the last season (St. Anton). And I have to say I am impressed with the stability they provide when it is best needed. Perhaps not the best boat to wander around in the park or in the village because of the stiffness (looks as if you're wearing boots at the beginning). But when you go fast and are on the verge they are wonderful.
The rigidity makes the board respond faster and more accurately. Although they are so stiff they are comfortable because of all the skim technologies Burton uses, they take up hard landings well.
After 50 days, I've got to start using the extra "tongues" in hard plastic that comes with increasing stiffness one more step, but before, the boot has been so rigid that it has felt unnecessary.
I think they will manage at least one season without getting soft.
