Adelboden-Lenk is one of Switzerland's largest and most reputable ski areas, located in the Bernese Oberland and surrounded by some of the country's most classic Alpine peaks. The ski region connects several sub-areas, including Adelboden, Lenk, Betelberg and Engstligenalp, and offers a very large continuous piste network with a long season and generally good snow security.
The skiing is characterized by wide, well-prepared slopes that are excellent for carving and long runs, but there are also plenty of red and black slopes for those looking for more of a challenge. The snow protection covers about 60 percent of the busiest slopes, which means that the surface is often of high quality even during milder periods. Later in the season, Engstligenalp is a popular option with high altitude and slopes that preserve the snow well into the spring.

Adelboden-Lenk has a slower pace than many of the Alps' more famous mega destinations. Here, there is rarely crowding in the lifts or slopes, and during periods such as Easter, skiing can feel almost private. For skiers who want to maximize time on the piste and avoid queues, this is one of the area's great strengths. The range of restaurants in the villages is relatively limited in number, but is consistently of high quality.

The area has a strong racing history and regularly hosts World Cup competitions, which is evident in the piste standard and infrastructure. For those who are mainly looking for steep and technical off-piste, Adelboden-Lenk is not the most extreme option in the Alps, but as a whole the region offers varied, reliable and very enjoyable skiing in a magnificent alpine environment – without feeling overexploited.
