Very varied and enjoyable skiing! The village is not very cozy but very functional, close to lifts wherever you live, walking or "Shuttle-train". Many good restaurants, not least on the hill. Lots of tapas!

Just got back from a long weekend in Baqueira-Beret!
In short: Magical.
We found an airbnb in Baqueira and lived about 200 meters from the lift, which was great for those who prioritize skiing. There is a small selection of restaurants in the village and I can really recommend La Borda Lobató by Ron Barceló. For those who want some life and movement after skiing, an alternative is to live in the nearby village of Vielha. You can easily get by bus to the hill (type 15 min). In Vielha there is a larger selection of restaurants and a little more life and movement. If I ever go back I will stay there.
The system in Baqueira-Beret is not huge but big enough to never get boring, very good off-piste off-piste or adventure for those who want to throw on the skins.
Plus:
* Many hours of sunshine
* The snow is good despite the hours of sunshine
* Good and fun slopes
* Huge selection of off-piste off-piste
* Nice people (if you know a little Spanish = D)
Minus:
* The food supply in the lift system is far from cruel. Be sure to book a lunch in Beret at "El Pla de Beret".
* For me who has been a lot in Austria, I miss the "hütte" culture on the slopes and a good "Apres" with song and dance.

Went for three days in Baqueira Beret over Christmas 2021. Very nice and extensive ski system which, however, takes a while to reach, regardless of whether you fly to Toulouse or Barcelona. The Aran Valley is very beautiful. We lived in the capital Vielha, a town with plenty of reasonably priced hotels and good restaurants. A little over a quarter of an hour by car to get up to the lift system, we did not see any ski buses. Up in Baqueira, hotels are significantly more expensive and the village does not feel as genuine.
The lifts, which for the most part consist of modern and fast seat lifts, are smartly placed and enable riding on several mountains and slopes in most directions. Always a piste with perfect light and snow conditions! Good access to lift off-piste terrain, but pumping powder was not relevant when we visited the resort due to the absence of fresh snow. However, numerous traces of summit hikers appeared in wild terrain as early as December, so there is certainly great potential for back-country tours.
Extra plus for the large number of hours of sunshine and the good supply of snow. By mid-December, it had fallen almost three meters - probably most in Europe! In addition, the snow is often said to be of Rocky Mountain quality: dry and light. However, it was a few weeks old at our visit, when the temperature was also above zero, and therefore felt about normal.
The slopes were very well prepared and there were hardly any people in the system at all. No queues or congestion in either lifts or restaurants. The fall height is not as great as in the Alps, but since the terrain is not as steep, the slopes are still long. I think that both skiing and well-being are a bit sharper here than in the relatively nearby Grandvalira (Andorra).
The Spanish Pyrenees have their pearls, Baqueira Beret is definitely one of them!
