Be in Kanade including Castle with friends 09 and 11 on a road trip. Super conditions both times. Sad snow and how much to go in. A little ruffy but lovely mood and, as I said, no congestion. Located remote so when the lifts close, I think the place dies. Risk of tough wind. Plus for the pub that has to be experienced. Would love to go there again.

Probably one of Canada's best-kept "secrets".
A terrific quiet mountain that basically has everything. Forest skiing, open spaces and ravines are reached with two lifts. You go up with the two old ones (you should not have problems with a little more primitive lifts) the lifts and reach the top. From the top, a traverse goes around basically the whole peak. From it, just select the line and run the entire fall height in the drop-down. Down there, transports back to the first lift.
Easily accessible off-piste is hard to find.
The only downside is that it tends to blow right on the mountain. But as you basically always go to Castle on day trips, it's up to yourself not to take a windy day.
You will be crowded with a maximum of 50-100 people on the mountain a regular weekday. Saturdays, maybe it will come a little more, as it is good for Calgary.
If you are driving a motorhome then it's definitely worth staying for a couple of days.
The rating 5 "world class" is set from one mountain to two-day mountain-season. To make a season in Castle is probably far from world class as it would force one to live in Pincher Creek.

Castle mountain is a paradise when it comes to losno ski slopes. I've got skiing in many places but I've never experienced a more castle like paradise.
I am a freestyle ski driver with a bronze bronze from O.S in Calgary, I have been living for 11 years now.
Just got me a house in the middle of the hill and look forward to the ski season. I highly recommend this ski area.

Are you in Fernie so do not miss a day here! Well worth trying. No congestion, large spaces, but not as steep as you wish. Have a goooood one!

Just wanted to comment on the previous, Pincher Creek is not the closest town, it must be Banff that is not far from there at all, I would like it to otherwise I have not gone to Castle M so any review will not be just wanted to play messerschmitt .. ...

Quite unknown and actually very good ski resort that overwhelmed me very much. I was here during my stay in Fernie -02. After two days of rain in Fernie we decided to go here to test if the hill height would help us get pillows. However, we did not have that right.
I still have to say that the mountain itself was very easily accessible. A little like Åre and Trysil. Everything is on one and the same peak. It's just slanting around to all the ranks.
I actually think it's better than Fernie. You get to every ride a lot easier here and the crowd is not that big. The system feels smaller, but I think the area is bigger here. The fall height is also bigger, and the bounds are brighter.
The lifts are tough and few, but with the little congestion it's not so important.
If you have the roads past, I definitely think Castle is worth a visit.

A rather unknown ski resort in Canada. Located quite remote. Canadians hardly know the place. When we were there, sadly it was a bit bad with snow. In the high zone, there is a really steep downpour skiing in carefully controlled slopes. Do you want to go brant offpist and reasonably safe here. Fun that it's so unknown.
-Little bad lifts.
-Väderkänsligt.
-Get lifting.
-Long to the nearest city. (Pincher Creek)
No hope.
+ Steep.
+ Unknown = few who go here
Cheap +.
+ Great coffee / resturang cottage.
