Dachstein West – Gosau-Russbach-Annaberg reviews

Have been here in the area and traveled 5 times in 10 days in the shock and can say that it is like Åre. There is a freeride area that is really good for practicing before going on the difficult areas of the Alps. Recommend to park in Russbach or upper gusau as I call it. An off-piste adventure can be the crib trail which is 20 minutes from the west dachstien towards hallstadt. Then we always stay in the bath ischl and it takes 30 to 40 minutes for the baker, the nutmeg then the bath guest or sallback 1.5 lies away. Never met any Scandinavian people in 8 years! Austria is the best! Do you want poor service to east Europe

This was a few winters ago, now that all the resorts are more smoothly integrated I have heard and read.
More families and Sunday guests than experts.

+ The view. For example, towards Dachstein (around 3000 m h) and Bischofsmütze.
+ long (solid narrow) pist from Zwieselalm, at the beginning of black, down to the gondola above Gosau-Hinterdorf
+ quite tall quite wide pist down to Russbach under the egg
+ near the major cities of Linz and Prague (about 400 km), but there were still some lifts with negligible queues.

- the others back a bit more like Dalafjällen in terms of lifting (frequent lift changes)
- morning queue to Zwieselalm
- partly winding little roads up to Gosau through the forest zone, some hours before the Autobahn (depends on which of the villages and which route you take)
- Gemütlichkeit partially "diluted " in a number of different parts of the city

Well worth a few days if you are in the vicinity, but traveling from Scandinavia, it is wiser to seek further west (or south) in Austria.
