5 gubbs and a weekend v. 15.

Thus no children and riding there after;) So no test of child-friendly or park.

Split into three areas: Gaustablikk ski center. Gaustatoppen skicenter and Gaustatoppen itself (mountain 1883m)

Had heard about Gaustatoppen as an offpist mecka and there was plenty of it. In 2018 it was 200cm maximum and the surface is not just the mountain Gaustatoppen, but the whole system offers a lot of varying rides for those who like to walk / climb a little. Stighedar, randoné or snow shoes as well as obligatory avalanche equipment are recommended.

We lived in the relatively new area Gaustatoppen ski center in an 8 bed cottage. Affordable and high standard with ski in / out mode at most cottages. Incredibly good and flexible service at Gaustatoppen booking. Solved everything and a little more !!

The slopes are a bit steeper and challenging in Gaustablikk with long black / red slopes at the chairlift. Kuperade and fun. What we struck is that it looks like there are many green slopes on the map but experience more like blue-red (with Sälen measure measured)
In Gaustatoppen area, the biggest development will be with new slopes and lifts that will link together all the way to Gaustabanan. Swedish investor who invested heavily in this place. Pratas about the gondola from Rjukan ...

Facts Gaustabanan: costs 300nkr for once 800nkr for full day (not included in regular lift passes) Gausta Banan can take time if there are a lot of visitors coming up. Takes about 20p / trip approx: 15 min transport with a change in the mountain. When you are up .... must be experienced! Waffle cabin on top.
A bunch of gutters m offpist down for the north / cheese side with steep entrance to most of the 47 ° slopes at the beginning and then plan out. Guide is a must if you have taken the course. 300nkr. Going to the top is not a guide. Easier joints are out with the saddle side back.

***** For the variety of mountains. Mountain feeling!
***** For accommodation and service
**** For the lift system that should have a chair in the Gaustatoppen

We were three families who visited Gaustablikk v7 2018. We managed to dive in a proper snowfall, so the first day it was safe 20-30 cm sneezing in and outside the slopes.
We drove up from Gothenburg, which was a convenient trip of 5.5H, but remember that snow chains may be needed when raising the last bite from Rujkan to the ski center, it is steep and a bunch of serpentines on the winter road before you get up.

We had booked a helpingsdeal with Bengt Martins who was quite affordable. The hotel was called Gaustblikk Högfjällshotell and was right across the road from the lifts. The food was beyond expectation to be Norway and the rooms were not huge but the public areas the bigger and the hotel has a swimming pool which the children loved.
The hotel has a great view of Gaustatoppen, which is a mountain with an old mountain range in the mountain that goes up to an abandoned NATO radio station. From here you can go down family-friendly offpiste but also quite steep and exposed gutters.
Unfortunately, this relatively high mountain seems to attract some clouds, poor visibility and quite ordinary mountain weather so we never came to the top during our week but next time it will happen.

Skiing, there were quite a lot, the best slopes on both sides of Gaustablikk Express. There is a good black back in the drop line and some red but also green on the sides so everyone in the family can be satisfied and get down to the same lift. These slopes are largely below the tree line and quite protected.
For a long time, viewers-right (if you look at the pistemap) you get into the system, the smoother and higher you will get. Here away there are more calf mountains, open spaces and wind pines, but also quite flat. However, bonus is a fantastic view of Gaustatoppen if it is not covered with clouds of course.

We brought children between the ages of 4-10 years and there are backs for all ages. The kids also went to ski school for 3 days and it was really great, good educational teacher and relaxed mood.

Can really recommend Gaustablikk if you want a little less place in the correct mountain environment with spectacular views and a chance for good powder shooting.

Gaustablikk and Gaustatoppen are built-in systems. The card applies in both and this season, Gaustatoppen has been built with a button lift and a technology park of 18,000 sq.m. as well as lighting and cannons. It is built everywhere in the mountain and every property sold pays a part to the development of the plant. From Gothenburg, it is almost on the kilometer as far as Gaustablikk as to Branäs. Good opportunities for offpiste skiing.

It's a lot of time to go skiing in Rjukan both on Gaustablikk and Gaustatoppen. Certainly the park itself may not be in class with Cham or other places in the world but well worth its price.

Good backs to work out and also the opportunity to get off-duty skiing without having to take a helicopter or pulse in snow for several hours ...

In addition, Rjukan is one of the world's best places for ice climbing and only they are well worth coming here for combining climbing, skiing performs on the length of the pistachio and off piste and also with good food on the gaustablikk yes yes, yes warmly recommend this place ...

Ps, if you want a ice climbing course visit www.freeclimb.se or meila me I'll fix this, run the courses in Rjukan and also rock in Sweden and gudiade tours in East Africa

Is even on gaustablikk a lot, and the ski trails are not all the world. The park is also bad, but when there is snowfall on the road, the area is amazing! In addition, you have the gaustatop which is an incredibly good summit, before you have had to climb your legs, but now they have opened an elevator inside the mountain from the 2nd World War. It costs 350 kr and takes you all the way to the top (more info at www.rjukanski.no). Renne number 4 is the best .. Gaustatoppen is incredibly good and it is highly recommended ..

Can not recommend Gaustablikk if you are looking for really extreme powder shooting, but they are snow-proofing in Norway. Here you go if you want to ride manchester in the world's most beautiful preped hill (the long black left on the lift map). Otherwise there are a few short offpiste tracks, but it's not just that you stay here for a longer time for the poodle's sake.
However, Gaustatopppen is on the opposite side of the lake.
Have not gone for yourself, but it's obviously worth the shark.

peace
