Holimont Ski Area

Located in Ellicottville in western New York, next door to Holiday Valley, Holimont Ski Area is one of the more distinctive ski resorts in the region. Holimont is primarily a private members' resort, but also has open days for the public, providing a quieter ski environment than many other ski resorts in the northeastern United States.

The skiing is characterized by well-prepared slopes with a clear drop line and several steeper sections that are appreciated by technically oriented skiers. The area is particularly known for its consistent piste quality and an efficient snow system that often provides a long and stable season, sometimes among the longest in the region.

Holimont has a clear club and training culture, with a strong presence of youth activities and alpine competitive skiing. This is noticeable both in the design of the slopes and in the pace on the mountain. At the same time, there are plenty of easier slopes that mean that even families and less experienced skiers will find skiing that suits them.

The overall impression is a classic, ski-focused facility where the skiing itself is at the center, with less crowding, short lift queues and a clear local character.
