Megeve reviews

Have traveled 4 half days in Megeve.
The system is not very big so suitable for a few days. Few skiers so no lift queues except in the Rochebuin section where the lifts are very old. A couple of button lifts there that you are dependent on taking up again creates long queues. Really irritating.

Mont d'arbois and Saint Gervais were nice parts of the system. Unfortunately it was a long time since fresh snow so it was hard offpiste (so did not go) but it looked to be really lovely areas for offpiste between the slopes at the top of the system. Generally quite old lifts and I appreciate even wider slopes than what was here. I would also have liked even clearer signage around the system to find easier. There are several really cozy restaurants on the slopes. From Rochebuin you can ski down to the center of the village of Megeve. Otherwise you have to take a bus/car back.

Can only recommend Megeve has been there on two occasions this year, good backs good food cozy town
and best of all no lift queues

In Megève, you'll be lonely when it's falling down. The regular Megèveturist walks around with umbrella and knee dog under the jacket and you can enjoy all the loose sneakers without competition.
It is expensive to eat outside, but you can always cook your own food.

The top is Megeve, cozy town not many Scandinavians.
Should have a car, Praz sur Arly, Contamine and Cote 2000 good skiing.
There is always a cozy lunch spot to find on the slopes. Will be pampered after having been here with all the good food.
40 min to Chamonix. Have also been here in summer, lovely walks even when all lunch places open in the slopes.

I was there a week 3 years ago. Megéve is a nice little place with some beautiful slopes, but is also an oasis of France's millions of people who have not often been on a couple of skis. Extremely many glittery costumes in gold colors you get on the purchase.

Where in Megve now is on the sports license. I experienced this ski resort as a refuge for Geneva live. Mycjet experienced riders and many children families.

The village is very nice with a great range of being an alpine town with cafes, restaurants and shops. In the middle of the village there is also an ice rink if you like skating.

Offpiste opportunities are good if you are looking and willing to go a bit. The park, however, works when I was there so half was closed.

I can recomend Megeve because the ski resort is in the right size and has access to everything. I think you should go to Megeve if you are a normal skier and want to have nice slopes, offpiste and park.

I have been for 3,5 months in Megève, worked as aupair and went massively with skis and boards, so I guess I can say I'm pretty well aware of the place! The village itself is super yellow but a bit expensive. Most of them are adapted for rich people, and on the small streets are the furthroats crowded! Nightlife is dead! The best place is Pallas, which lies opposite the ice rink. There you can shake the butt until 5 PM in the morning to clubb music hiphop and R & B. But girls do not go there on wednesdays because then there are girls who can be very annoying and stressful! Other good places are Cargo and Palo Alto, and if you want to have a hammock with English, go to Cocoon. Otherwise, it is generally only French in Megève. I did not meet a single Swedish in the 3.5 months I was there.
The skiing system is called Evasion Mont Blanc and consists of Mont Arbois and Rochbrune and Jaillet. These three are a huge system that takes a long time to go through. You do not have to tire a piste right away! In addition, Les Contamines is included in the lift pass, which I really recommend to go to, where you will find big lovely wide slopes and there is a lot of available offpiste than in Megève. One must, however, have a car to get there. The outpost in Megève is nothing and hurry, but if you find some good places, the untouched long and you do not have to compete with fifty others, like in Chamonix, about getting first tracks. My tip is to go to Cote 2000 or Mont Arbois.
Do not go to Megéve later than in Mars, you will not get up to 2400m so in April you risk it's too hot and there's no snow.
Go to Megève! It's a little gem!

Visited French comrade with a house in Megeve New Year 1998, thus experiencing the Alps in French. Absolutely ok ski system, varying. The village itself is cozy, but quite expensive. But best of all - it's rare with Scandinavians!

My first visit to the Alps went to Megeve - the small alp village that rich French people like to go to are linked to two very good lift systems, offering varied and fun skiing.
After skiing, all the party huts go to the village's smallest but crowded pub, which turns into afterskii for a while. There you stay all night unless you go to the casino and spend money there instead.
There are also a few restaurants and cafes that all serve superb food. This also applies to the "Top" restaurants.
