Went a day in Valdelinares in the midst of 2016. It's only 15 miles (1h20min by car) from Valencia, so easy to drive over the day, good motorway most of the road. A little special to park at the top of the hill and then skiing down the valley. In the middle of the hill lies a casserole where several lifts converge, there is a restaurant and a large outdoor area and bar. There is also ski school, ski hire and restaurant at the top of the parking lot.

We had amazing weather - brilliant sun, warm as a spring day in the Alps, even though it was late December. The lift queues were short, except in the green slopes, nice staff at the lifts who gladly helped the children fix. The seat lifts are of the slow type. The slopes were well-ventilated and the snow (very artificial snow) was of good quality despite the heat. The ski rental was chaotic (despite booking) and the equipment was tired.

Valdelinares should not be compared to the major resorts in the Alps and the Pyrenees, the slopes are a bit longer than those in the Sälen and there is a smaller range of slopes in difficulty green-blue-red. Definitely worth going there for one or two days.

Statistics:
Altitude: 1700-2000m
Number of slopes: 13
Total piste length: 14km
Number of lifts: 14h
