Woods Valley Ski Area

Located in Westernville in central New York, not far from Rome/Utica, Woods Valley is a classic family slope with a clear "locals" feel. Here it is about uncomplicated skiing, fast laps and a facility that has served as a home slope for generations – they have been running since 1964.

The ski area has about 21 slopes and a vertical drop of about 498.7 feet, which is substantial for a smaller resort in the region. The lift system consists of 6 lifts (including chairlifts and conveyor belts), and there is both a park and tubing for those who want to vary the day.

A big part of the thing about Woods Valley is that there is night skiing, making it a perfect "after work" slope, and with access to artificial snow, they can often keep going even when the winter is rough.
