Strengths:
+ Sits nicely on the body.
+ Small, light and smooth.
+ Idiosafe design, not complicated controls.
+ Good to turn on when fastening the straps.
Weaknesses:
- Kvality
- Kvality
- Kvality
- Settings when searching for several buried people.
Summary:
Have had this transmitter since 2003. Even after 60 ski days a shattering sound was heard from transmitters when any unknown component had been disconnected. I was kind enough to go around with a screaming transmitter for 4 weeks because of poor bummering. Recalled the sender and received a new one after 3 months.
My new transmitter has worked well until last season. When searching with a battery level between 30-45%, it started to be very strange. I use qualitative batteries, temp -15C and Ortovox's recommendation is to change before 10% remains. The problem was that the indication worked generally smoothly and, as the worst, blacked both the display and the sound in 10s. What Ortovox says about this again stands to see.
In short, I do not recommend this transmitter to be proud that it is very nice when it works.
ALWAYS HAVE EXTRA BATTERIES AND REPLACE TIME BATTERIES!

Strengths:
Very easy to use. Fast. Clear.
Weaknesses:
Summary:
Recently compared Ortovox x1 with Tracker DTS. Both are good transceivers, but the Ortovox wins on its simplicity and above all that it's faster to find it. While the tracker also works well, it has the ability to trick it when more buried and you often have to narrow the search field with the yellow button, even in single search to speed up the process. This fixes the orthopox better.
(Comment to Kjellelman: It is easy to find that transceivers "change direction " and the like. It is normal. It depends on the electromagnetic field that is formed. Among other things, one searches for a parable and the viewfinder can be turned 180 Degrees. Tips for everyone are to practice a lot and read how the search itself goes, even technically.)

Do not buy it !! It shows the wrong direction and meter all the time. I'm glad that my friends have not come under a avalanche when I've used it, because then it would have been bad.
