Avalanche Transceivers

An avalanche transceiver, sometimes called an avalanche beacon, is an invaluable companion for those who ski off-piste. It sends out a signal that allows other skiers to locate you if you become buried under the snow in an avalanche accident. By switching to receiving mode, you can in turn search for other people in distress. Together with an avalanche probe and shovel, the transceiver forms the most important safety equipment in the mountains.
