Strengths:
Agile, quick edge to edge, carves hard

Weaknesses:
I'm not good at assessing this since it's the best ski I've ever used and coming from straights having grown up in the 80's

Summary:
I love this ski. I'm certain if I had the time and money I could demo a bunch of great skis in 2024 that would make me consider moving on from my XScreams but I haven't found a ski to do it yet. Most of my skiing happened between 1980-2000. These past 15 years I haven't sometimes been able to ski 1 day a year. Last year I started back again and getting back on my XScreams got me very excited. They're the best skis I've ever used. I grew up learning how to ski with straight skis and I learned the Stein Erikson technique with feet very close together. When skis went parabolic and fat I found them really hard to ski on. I kept crossing tips and tails and widening my stance was hard adjustment and never felt comfortable with it. Sometime back in the early 2000s I demo'd the XScreams and it elevated my skiing immediately. I could attack the mountain without losing much of my edge. The side to side quick turning was very easy all of a sudden but I could also lay back a little and do larger arcing carves all without struggling to make a wider stance or crossing tips and tails. I fell in love with the skis immediately. The profile is 103mm tip, 66mm middle and 93mm tail. These are the dimensions of a carving ski these days but back then I don't think they even had specific categories like that. The XScreams were marketed as an all mountain or free ride ski I believe. The XScreams's dimensions are still smaller than the modern carvers by a range of 3mm-10mm depending on what part of the ski (tip, middle, tail). I had a pair of 2004 XScreams that finally died on me when the prolink bar hydrostatic black fluid that was compressed inside leaked out. It affected both skis. I was sad to retire them but excited to look for a new pair. I did a lot of research and realized that most "all mountain skis" had far larger profile dimensions. The specialty 'carving' ski was more like what I was looking for but found them to be very expensive and not recommended by reviewers as your primary ski. When I was growing up having specialty purpose skis didn't really exist as far as I knew. They were all straights anyway. After months of research and some late night internal arguments about which ski to buy and nearly pushing "pay now" several times, it dawned on me that I might be able to get a used pair of XScreams and for cheap on ebay. I found a 2001pair in my size for $125 all in. They need some tlc but are in decent shape for a 1/6th of what modern skis cost. I don't know which modern ski would better suit me than the XScreams and I will keep looking and hopefully demoing some until I find one that fits me but for now I'm sticking with what I know works. I know the XScreams are considered old technology and they don't get the love they once had but they've worked for me and I love 'em.

Strengths:
Powerful, lively, great carver, excellent crud ski, fabulous edge to edge. Fast and responsive on the frontside and powerful on the backside.

Weaknesses:
To work this ski, the skier needs to have good technique and good strength. They will ski powder, but they aren't a powder ski.

Summary:
Best skis I've ever been on. Salomon, bring them back!

Strengths:
awesome ski for carving turns on piste, light and fast turns easily, very fast and light

Weaknesses:
the shock absorbers on the tip and tail, my first pair cracked on the absorber(salomon replaced skis FOC) other than that nothing

Summary:
Lovely ski fast and lively carves like a dream, not great in deep snow but not bad if you want a ski to cruise the pistes all day this is for you

Length on the ski: 175 cm
Riders weight: 80 kg
Riders length: 170 cm

Strengths:
Easy ride, answer fast, eat curves, simply a cool classic!

Weaknesses:
Old model, not as high a hippo factor in the hill (but who cares?), A little heavier than today's modern skis if you want to jump a lot (but easier than the early 90's of skis that people still managed to do some incredible tricks with!)

Summary:
A really nice ski that should be referred to as all time high classics! Has been found in most of the slopes around the Alps and gave many happy ski tours a wonderful ride in the slopes!

Length on the ski: 165 cm
Riders weight: 76 kg
Riders length: 165 cm

Easy skiing with beautiful sliding properties in well-groomed piste. However, missing a proper ice grip and it draws the rating down
A little tongue, because of a length, therefore a little hard to jump with ...
Okay, in Lösnö, there is a little more to be desired here

Riders weight: 85 kg

Have gone on these since I actually started skiing "on real" and have to say they are one of the world's best all-round skiing. Sits like a smeck in the piste and even outside if it's not too deep snow. This is a clearly priced ski that holds the mat.

yes, they are very beautiful, but they may start to grow old. They are very heavy to jump along, but in the piste they are Beautiful! Yes, the price I think is good, but as I said before, maybe you should not buy a couple like that now .. put on a couple of newer skis!

The ski was very fast-paced and certainly did it what it would ... But it lacked that little extra! There was just no glow or life in it. Without all, it just worked without any joy.

Does not think it was fun enough for me to think it was affordable.

Is in the 3rd season with them now o They have held everything from Chamonix's steep huge areas to rocky slopes in Åre. The piste features are completely in class with the best racing ski and in the powder it flows well. But there is also only negative. In deep cushions you notice the relatively "narrow" waist (compared to today's Fat-skis). But there was also the criticism. Works well in general. Maybe not the best choice if you're heavy but otherwise very good. If you want to be original, you should not buy it, they are too many who have it today :)
The price e clearly ok. It also has a few years on my neck so a pair of used for a cheap money should probably not be very good.

(Have had them a good while now, so they are heading for a new purchase next season. Probably very wide (b. - XXX): D)
