Located just 70 km from Sofia, Borovets is the first mountain resort on the Balkans. It dates back to 1896 when the Royal family at the time built several hunting lodges there. It hosts a wide variety of winter activities for snow fans of all ages. The resort features 58 km of ski runs: from easy beginner slopes to challenging expert runs. 175 snow guns ensure good snow conditions throughout the whole season. The youngest guests can learn to ski in the Boro Kids' Park, while Ski School Borosport offers a variety of lessons with more than 150 professional ski and snowboard instructors. Freeriders enjoy a lavish choice of untouched terrains and guided tours to the most spectacular places in Rila mountain. With eight night-skiing runs (open from 6-10 pm), a pulsing nightlife, and a variety of entertainment and gastronomy choices, the fun in Borovets does not stop . . . all through the night.
