Dear Bräntberget, this is where it all started. At least if your name is Maria Pietilä Holmner. Jens Byggmark also competed here as a young boy. The slalom slope in the green area of Stadsliden in central Umeå, close to Mariehem and Mariedal, was originally an old garbage dump.

The ski resort is managed in collaboration between Umeå Fritid and the alpine UHSK Umeå Ski Club, which was founded in 1966 and is considered one of the country's best thanks to the harvest of SM, World and Olympic medals over the years. In the spring of 2019, UHSK Freeskiing arranged Umeå Big Air for the first time, as part of the Swedish Slopestyle Tour.

The slope is frequently used by Umeå residents, and is divided into three sections: freesking, alpine skiing and snowboarding. There are rails, big jump and a sledding hill. The longest run boasts 853 feet. Skiers and boarders take advantage of the artificial snow, which quickly provides "cane depth." Due to its geographical location, there is a cold limit - at minus 20 degrees or colder, the slope is closed.
