Geilo was really nice and i had a great time. Never snowboard before but they teached me very good. (at the geilolia side =P) Good teachers and nice slopes for beginners.

I am a Ski Instruktor on the Geilolia side it is a great place to have fun. The ski resort has a good park with some new rails and i hope some more jumps. It is small but still fun.Thomas

We went there during the Swedish Easter vacation (v.15) we thought it was great!

No lift queues and mostly British and Japanese who stayed in the beginner slopes.
Nice piste that lasted all day when there were few people.

Fun to be able to change sides after half the day which was easy with the ski bus.

We appreciated the feeling of an older ski resort on the east side while the west side felt newer and more commercial.

We were there for 3 days and was quite enough to not get tired.
Looks like there are good opportunities for touring if there is more snow.

Overall, positively surprised and think Geilo is a small village in Norway that is well worth a visit.

Perfect for families with children or beginners and really good for cross-country skiers. Ustedalen around on cross-country is really flat and nice and up on the mountain there are nice tracks.
Havsdalen has good off-piste for everyone, Vestlia is well planned and has some fun forest skiing for the little ones.

+ No lift queues
+ The view of Hallingskarvet is magically beautiful.
- You usually want to change mountain side after half a day and then it will be to get in the car with the family.
- The more challenging slopes from Geilohovda are quite short.

Great weather, good slopes and nice places to stay. I can highly recommend Bardøla Høyfjellshotell there are fantastic food with nice staff. Both the hotel rooms but also the cabins are super nice and cozy. The only thing is that you have to get to the slopes by car or bus but you can go back (however fat gets a little jerky).
I love Geilo and that is because there are slopes that suit everyone both steep but also light for those who are not so good yet. Then there is also a ski school that I can recommend, good and knowledgeable teachers who adapt to your level.
Another good thing is that there is not a long queue for the lifts
There are also great views from the mountains and the slopes are wide (not all) so it feels like you are almost yourself.

Perfect for beginners, otherwise quite a small system. Easy backs that, in principle, everyone can handle. Recommended for beginners and families with children. (No venue)

I am a little surprised that Geilo has received such bad reviews. I stay in Geilo during New Year and the skiing is good. The lifts were smooth and fast, and you could easily get to other places without having to put up too much. The only downside is that it was a little bit too snowy when I stayed there, and they made the slopes upside down around 13, but before that was the cannon! I highly recommend Geilo!

Been there a couple of years ago and have to agree with the previous speaker. The skiing itself was no elevation. The only positive thing about the week was that we lived in a top cabin and we had ten feet to the hill.

Sad, flat, illogical, short and generally boring ski resort just before the Hardangervidda reaches. Maybe says a bit about the surroundings, Widda ... no mountains just.
No, there is no way in which the name is available. I was here one day and it was enough. The only thing that does not make the score does not become a 1st is the fact that the fall height is, for the north, relatively high 365m.
Possible jibbers will be more right but I'm not in the back. No, go somewhere else.

I live at the resort in question before the season and as I see it there are no other dangers to go here before driving a pipe.

They have a very awesome super pipe (change in the north what I have first ..)
The level of the riders is very high thanks to NTG (snowboard) high school.
The pipe is pistachio as needed. but it's usually not needed as often as all skid riders are screaming before dropping in.

One big regret is that there is no one who likes free skating. then you'll have a shark one day.

There are many other minor problems, such as the music in the park. But the job base is full of that issue.
