Known for both downhill and cross-country skiing, hundreds of kilometres of well-groomed trails at all levels and a cosy city centre – we're talking about Geilo! The ski resort is located midway between Bergen and Oslo and it is easy to get here both by car and train. The varied sides of the mountain are appreciated by both beginners and serious expert skiers. Geilo has 39 slopes spread across all sides of the valley. If you like cross-country skiing, you won't be disappointed. Over 55 miles of nice trails in both forest and mountain terrain await you.
Geilo has a total of five terrain parks, 20 lifts and a longest run of two kilometers. After a full day of skiing, there are plenty of nice accommodations to choose from down in the village. Choose which price range you want to get into. The resort has everything from basic hostels to luxurious spa hotels. Get here smoothly and easily by hopping on the train from Bergen or Oslo. Geilo is also close to Hemsedal.
