Kaprun/Maiskogel

Ski resorts in Austria
Kaprun/Maiskogel is not the most famous ski resort in Austria, but it is a great place to visit thanks to its charm and tranquility. The small ski village has everything you need, from affordable restaurants and lovely après-ski to good slopes and well-functioning lifts. This is not a place you go to if you want to combine skiing with a fun nightlife, rather if you want to be able to get a good night's sleep before the next day's skiing.
From the village, you can quickly take a lift up to Maiskogel, about 1,2214,6 feet above sea level. Kaprun shows its best side when the weather is sunny and nice, but can quickly feel a little uncomfortable if it were to change. Luckily, there are quite a few other ski resorts nearby. To the south you have the Kitzsteinhorn and to the north you have Zell am See. The Kitzsteinhorn takes you up to 3,0 feet above sea level and Zell am See gives you a more active city and a wider range of slopes.

Fun if there are pillows ... otherwise small, boring and weird lifts. A couple of days is enough.

Nice gutters when there is snow there, otherwise good at the top (glacier).

Feeling ski instructor ... but no further nightlife
