Knyken skisenter

Ski resorts in Norway
Knyken Skisenter is located just outside Orkanger in Trøndelag and is a locally based ski resort with a strong connection to organized skiing. The area is perhaps best known for its ski jumps, which for a long time have made Knyken a center for ski jumping and Nordic skiing activities in the region.
The alpine part of the resort is compact but relatively steep for its size, making it well suited for technique training and gates. Alpine skiing is regularly practiced and competed here, and the fast rotation of the lifts provides efficient skiing time rather than long transport distances.

Knyken is widely used by clubs and active skiers, but also offers easier skiing for children and the general public. The combination of alpine skiing, ski jumping and cross-country skiing makes the area a versatile ski centre rather than a traditional ski resort. For many in Orkland and the surrounding area, Knyken is an obvious home slope – regardless of whether the focus is on jumping, technique training or shorter everyday runs.
