Stayed at Hotel Relais des Glaciers in Champoluc which can be recommended. Long nice slopes with relatively modern lifts without lift queues. There are of course some really old Italian lift classics too;) if there is snow, there is plenty of off-piste. The lift pass also gives you the opportunity to ride in Cervinia, different number of days depending on how many days you buy. There are some restaurant gems on the slopes with magical views.

Really good with big dramatic mountains and skiing to match. There are probably many places with more snow but few places with more potential. A place for mountain lovers

+ very nice skiing up on Punta Indren (completely off-piste. Requirements for avalanche equipment to go up with the cabin to the top).
+ cruel skiing among the larch trees in the magical Jolanda forest (requires a huge dump)
+ there is also forest skiing in Champoluc

- rather strange slopes: narrow, winding down the mountains. (no great big alpine as in Switzerland / Austria)
- lack of park (hey it is in 2020 !!)
- no place for families with children

my tip:
live in Gressoney Trinite: then you easily get to Indren and can go in the Jolanda forest if it snows.
Champoluc is nice too but it will be quite a long way to get all the way up to Indren

Slightly worse food than other resorts in Italy and longer lift queues.

Have been here twice, short lift queues, great food, great skiing both piste and offpiste.
