Nassfeld is a hidden gem.Not well known outside of Austria, but with good skiing. It is very snow sure, being what the Austrians call a ' Schnee winkel', snow pocket. There is about 100miles of piste, mostly red, with a few blacks & a couple of blues. I would say it's not great for absolute beginners, as most of the resort is laid to reasonably steep reds. There is good lift accessed off piste, & you can ski across the border into Italy. There are also good, tight, tree runs off piste. Very beautiful mountains & a very modern lift system. There is now a reasonable park, & half pipe & a fun park. On my visits I've never had to queue for a lift & the slopes seem pretty empty. But if you are looking for a resort with big night life look elsewhere. The Cube hotel does have a 24 hour bar, & a decent club in the basement, but aside from a couple of very austrian apres ski bars (all the better for that in my opinion!) there is not alot more life to the place. Mind you if your main objective is to get some decent skiing in then this might just be the place for you. The mountain restaurants are good, & by french alps standards very reasonable.

Was here week 8 with families where the children are 9-12 years old. Stayed down in Tröpolach and was pleasantly surprised by the ski area. The slopes and lift systems are very good, cozy restaurants and few Scandinavians. A little queue in the lift in the morning but otherwise 5 stars.

Loved the ride the two days we visited this place. Many nice slopes with nice slopes and almost no ice. In addition, the lifts were modern and good. My suggestion is to spend at least three days here when we are not really he with everything at two!

Do you want to live in the middle of the hill? Aaka abroad not to meet countrymen? This may be the place for you. Modern ski system that has benefited from land in recent years, including new and efficient lifts. A splash of central alpine and a splash dolomite gives the "Karnische Alpen" like Nassfeld located along the Italian-Austrian border. The expansion has been decided and the elevator building on the Italian side has already been club. Do you drive a car, it's far beyond the rest of Austria. Flyer makes you the best to Salzburg or Venice / Treviso. Each about 2 / 2.5 h transfer by car. This part of Austria has a slightly different climate and even more easy-going mentality. Good accommodation on the mountain is relatively good. Then you will not have to get crowded in the morning gondola and arouse you across the valleys at the ninety-five string. Tips on alternative slopes? I'll be fine for myself!
