Sportgastein

Ski resorts in Austria
At the far end of the Gastein Valley, half an hour's bus ride from Bad Gastein, lies the high alpine ski area Sportgastein, which is the most hyped of Bad Gastein's four ski areas. Here you will find the classic off-piste runs Norden and Syden, and on the other side of the valley towers the three thousand meter peak Scharek.
Almost all skiing takes place above the tree line, so the riding areas are fairly unlimited for those who have local knowledge.
