Zakopane

Ski resorts in Poland
If you have had enough of red wine-drinking Italians and gourmet-indulging Germans, then you clearly have to head east and particularly to Zakopane. Poland’s winter city is affordable, and the skiing is really nice.
Zakopane may be best known for ski jumping as the World Cup in that event has been held here several years. The mountain doesn’t offer more than 16 pistes, but there is still something for everyone here. The vertical drop is 900 meters and pistes are generally well-prepared. After some decent snowfall, you will easily find great powder tracks here.

The food may not be as outstanding as Italian cuisine, but this is reflected in the price. Make sure to try all the Polish delicacies on offer and you will quickly be both satisfied and full. Even the drinks are very reasonably priced, and you will be surprised to see the amount of beer consumed by the skiers here.
