Camden Snow Bowl

Ski resorts in USA
Located just outside the coastal city of Camden, Maine, Camden Snow Bowl is an unusual combination of skiing and oceanfront environment. From the top of the mountain there is a view of Penobscot Bay, making Snow Bowl one of the few ski resorts in the United States where you literally ski with the sea as a backdrop.
The facility is municipally owned and has a clear local character. The ski area is compact but varied, with a mix of open slopes and forest skiing. Several of the steeper slopes fall straight towards the valley and provide efficient skiing without long transport distances. Off-piste in the form of sparse forest areas and natural lines is part of the experience when the snow conditions allow.

The Camden Snow Bowl is also known for hosting national competitions in both alpine and freestyle, despite its relatively small size. Night skiing occurs regularly and makes the slope popular with both locals and visitors from the coast. The overall impression is a down-to-earth ski slope with a focus on skiing, where the environment and local involvement play as much as the number of slopes.
