The service is disastrous and they create slopes that can't/shouldn't be counted as slopes to avoid the snow guarantee. They put a sign on a slope that has existed for all years between the lift and the restaurant to be able to put it on the piste map and thus proudly say that they have increased the number of pistes. They have problems with water to the cabins and the campsite from time to time. Which they do not go out with information about. They offer yellow dirty water. Despite their experience, they cannot be there for guests when they need help.

Need to build more toilets at the campsite or really need to replace the lift or make another hill that is a little longer...otherwise perfectly fine but nothing that you go to year after year like it is now anyway....or restaurant also needs also a little upgrade!!

Hovfjället is a nice little ski resort that we visited for the first time last winter and were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of the slopes, which are mostly green and with three black slopes, Hovfjället is something for the whole family. This small ski resort is perfect if you only want to go for three to four days and prepare your alpine season with a soft start..

Always as nice in the best Hovfjället!

Nice place if you want to combine cross-country skiing and downhill skiing, Nice trails with some challenging slopes, a very good beginner trail on the bog. Downhill skiing is limited, some good descents but short. 2h on the slopes per day and the rest in the track makes a good week. Good cabins on Hovfjällstoppen, but you seem to have stopped in the middle of the process when you equipped them, e.g. the lack of curtains.

Hovfjället probably has Värmland's most accurate advertising sign. When you have endured the E45 from Gothenburg for 4-5 hours, you swish past Hovfjället with the greeting "if you had booked Hovfjället you would have arrived now". Yep, thanks for that.

The facility is beautifully situated on Hovfjället and has a rustic charm to it. The fall height is only 150 meters, good for southern Sweden, but once in Värmland expectations increase. The slopes are a bit special and often change color several times on the way down and cross both each other and lifts. Most of the skiing is embedded in the surrounding forest and there seems to be a lot of forest skiing for the kids. However, I stayed on the slopes that were icy.

So will you book Hovfjället next time? For me, Sunne is obviously the better choice and is also an hour closer. I can imagine that Hovfjället can work for families with children or those who have other interests than just downhill skiing, but at the same time you get much more of everything in Branäs, just an hour further away. I was there on weekdays and it was calmer in Hovfjället than in Branäs.

I have a season ticket here and alternate with Branäs and also drive downhill. Hovfjället is really beautiful but might need a little investment.

Nice off-piste if you know where it is

First and last time. Have been on holiday sessions in both Norwegian and Swedish mountains since the late 80's but never been like anything like that. Cottage for 10 people has just too little kitchen equipment without curtains, there is not even a heating felt. Kettle is available in all homes except in a cabin. Solved 10-card ski passes, where they only noted 1 yard on the card, which meant that my grandchild had to stay in a lift until I got a new card on top. Unpleasant lift staff would probably send on a scharm course if it could help

Very affordable accommodation and affordable skiing at this establishment. For the family of children up to the teens there is everything at the facility. Easy slopes and more difficult! Nice long track! Good instructors. For families with teenagers, after a couple of days the slopes can be a little too light. But for a short stay, for example over a weekend, the facility is perfect even for the teenager! Nice atmosphere and it does not cost the shirt!
